Josey Hale was born in 1976 and grew up shuttling between New York City and the Black Hills of South Dakota. After studying film, he lived up and down the West Coast in Portland, Oakland and Los Angeles, working as a union organizer and apprentice carpenter. Josey now lives in Bushwick, Brooklyn.
